Virtual Reality - Part 1
He has never been very popular with the other kids in his class. He never goes out dancing with them and he doesn’t have a girlfriend. His parents are still together and they live in a nice house in the suburbs. He doesn’t know anything about living in the city or which fashion brand is currently in style, but he doesn’t care. His world is not school, or the city or anything even remotely relating to reality. His world is one of video games.
Unlike many of his peers, he loves old-school video games. They are his escape, his solace; he finds comfort in their predictability and routine plot lines. He enjoys their bad graphics and the over-pixelation of their scenery as that helps him to not focus on how mundane his life is; how unbearably standard and unimaginative his family and his house are and how he longs for a reality like the one in his games.
