Cytheria and Jaselyn

A few weeks later I was at her house still since class had ended and we were laying on her bed talking. She asked me again “How much do you love me Jas?” “To the end of the world my Cytheria” I replied. “Promise me that no matter what, you will be there for me.” “I promise Cy, why, whats wrong?” “Look at this, it’s a secret” she whispered as she lifted a piece of her wood floor and took out a book. “It’s in Latin, my parents gave it to me when I was little, they said I would understand when I got older, but I don’t. It’s just a story, and some weird spells and you know, the usual mythology.”

It was a magnificent book. It was so big and heavy both hands needed to be used to hold it. Engraved on the front and back of the cover was an intricate design of flower vines entwined together. The center said “Exordium” in gold fading paint. It was bound together with golden thread, which, had not lost it’s luster despite it’s age. I was shocked to see the pages were of papyrus, and the writing was in gold ink.
