[Challenge] Baby Names

Fact:

1.) Mrs Calvert and I are expecting our second child on the 2nd of April

2.) It is a girl

3.) We do not know what to call her. There has been some discussion (some of it heated) and we have decided that we are open to suggestion, seeing as internal negotiations have deadlocked.

Challenge:

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pick a girl’s name, and write a ficlet that illustrates the strengths of someone who goes by that name.

Then post it as a sequel to this challenge.

There is a real chance that if you do this well, you could be the person to determine this new child’s name!

    I will bow out of this one gracefully. I had a hard enough time with my own two. ;) I decided upon a blend of mine and their father’s names. (The oldest is a blend of our middles- Ray and Lynn- and the youngest a blend of our firsts- Jennifer and Preston) Which, I think, ended up beautifully. (Raylyn and Jenson) Thank goodness we stopped at two. Things could have gotten complicated after that. ;)

    I had an April Fool’s baby, and I’m getting ready for that first birthday!
    I have boys, but no boy names we could agree on! It was tough, twice! I know what you’re going through.

    Congrats on a baby girl! Hope you find a name for your little girl. =)

    I may enter if I can find a name I like. But I hate names honestly.. I have the hardest times naming my characters let alone a human. At least my characters can’t complain if they dont like their names.

    It’s a hard desicion. There is an AWESOME baby name book called ‘Beyond Jennifer and Jason’. Looks at the history of naming baby and then some…...very cool. Cheers

    Baromero – She was 3 kg and 49 cm at birth. That is 6.6 lbs and 19.3 inches for our non-metric friends.
