Where the cookie came from

“You passed them?”, Jocinda asked, trying to get the mice back on track.

“Yes.”, said Flandip. “You see, we used a gas-powered planet to get to this system. It isn’t the most energy efficient way of doing things and leaves a stench but is much cheaper than a hyper-drive and the difficulty of finding a plug-in outlet in this sector of the galaxy ruled out electric motors. Anyway, due to our system of power, we bounced around various solar systems on our way here, which is why it took us .5 billion years.”

“So.. you lived for .5 billion years on a cheese covered planet which bounced around the galaxy on gas. I would have thought cultures advanced enough to make it to our solar system would have been more advanced but get back to 4.9 billion years ago..”, stated Jocinda.

“4.9 billion years ago we were in the Florian sector of the galaxy. We had thought we would avoid them but somehow or other.. didn’t..

“Was that a problem?”

“Yes. Well, you see.. they have a big thing for milk..”, Flandip said.
