It was another 24-hours after I talked to Bernard that I finally wake up. My head is pounding and my side throbbing. I look around, slightly confused as to why I’m in a hospital.
“Mom..?” I ask, still looking around.
“Yeah, Sweety?” She says rushing into my room. “Is everything ok? You still sore?”
“Uhm.. yeah. I guess. Why am I here?” I look at her with utter confusion in my eyes.
“Baby, do you not remember?” My mom asks me. When I shake my head “no.” She continues. “You were in a car accident.. You side was cut, and you just woke up after surgery on you skull.. Which was spilt open a bit.”
“W..wh.. what.. how?” I manage.
“A.. a drunk driver..” My mom sqeaks. Just then a stricking young man walks into my room.
“Leo… the b-” He starts.
“Bernard!” My mother yells.
“Sorry.. Faith! Oh you’re awake.” He rushes over and gives me a big, slightly awkward hug.
“Uhm.. hi.. uh.. Bernard..?” I say completly unsure. “Do I know you?”
