Macy 27: Own Me

“No I don’t.” Shane shrugged, “But I never did understand idiots.”

Derrick murmured, “You don’t seem to understand a lot.” But just as Shane went to slug him, Macy stepped out from the trees.

She was shaking and she kept fidgeting with her fingers. In a inaudible voice, she told him, “Shane, please go.”

“What if I don’t want to go?” Shane challenged.

“Go because I said so.” Macy looked at Derrick, a warning not to say anything.

“You don’t own me. Can’t tell me what to do.”

Macy looked at the ground, “That’s what I used to say to you.”

“Macy, you’re taking a big risk here. He’s already got me mad, do you want to be here when I beat him down?”

“No I want you to go.” Macy was still talking quietly and Shane moved forward toward her. Derrick was about to follow, but Macy glanced at him to stay.

Shane hissed, “Macy Gram, I can’t believe you are being such a bitch! I don’t know what’s wrong with you!”

“Nothing wrong with me but you!” She screamed in his face, then shrunk back in fear.
