Macy 35: Pressures

Macy turned out of Shane’s grasp as Derrick stepped out. “You’re not supposed to be here.” Shane spit out.

Macy placed herself between the two and whispered, “Please try to be normal for a sec.”

Shane continued, “Macy, this is going on too long. You need to choose one of us and you need to choose now.” He took a step back and Derrick followed suit. “Now.”

Macy closed her eyes, pressing her fingers to her visage. She whispered, “I…can’t…just choose.” The pressure seemed to be weighing her down and the song by Paramore was on repeat in her head.

“Macy, you know what I have. And I know you want it.” Shane challenged.

Derrick retorted, “That makes no sense! Macy, just do what you feel is right.”

“Oh please, she knows I’m right!”

“JUST STOP IT , STOP IT!” Macy shouted, then lowered her voice, “I can’t stand you fighting. I’ll make a list.”

Shane raised his eyebrows, even he knew he probably wasn’t on the happiness side of the list.

Macy began in a faint voice, “Shane…”
