Macy 43: Confident

Weeks later, the spring dance was approaching and that meant a lot of things. The dance meant booze in the punch; intercourse in the hall; fights; drama and any other thing that could possibly describe one night.

“So are you asking me to the dance?” Macy teased.

Derrick told her, “No.” But then smiled. “Of course, though it’s obvious, right?”

“It is.” Macy kissed his lips right in the middle of the hall with hundreds of eyes watching. Including Shane and Macon’s, which Macy wished were far away. You have to understand their history to see the issue.

“Whoa too many people here. Save it for the dance.” Derrick murmured.

“That sounds like a famous last line.”

“Well it did come from me, didn’t it?” Derrick grinned, laughing at his little joke. He tended to do that often.

“So do you think the guys are coming to the dance tonight?” Macy slightly turned to look through the corner of her eye at them.

“Oh they probably will. But they’re too afraid to mess with me.”
Always confident, are we?
