Faint

As I drifted, my thoughts were in a wide range. The first thought was that I should wake up soon before Mike does something crazy. Again.

And the second thought was that I really needed this so-called sleep and that this rest was good for my body and mind. But it didn’t feel that way of course.

And the third thought was…not even a thought.
Me: Gah!

Mike was leaning over me, blocking the sun and holding out something wet that dripped on my nose. I wiped it off and tried to sit up. He settled me instead.

Mike: You always seem to faint.
Not really the words I wanted to hear.

I raised my eyebrows at him, even in this state of subconsciousness and he rephrased.
Mike: I mean, are you okay?
Me: Yes thank you.

I was glaring at him but he just smiled happily. His smile faded when he saw something behind me. Leaving a hand on my chest, not permitting me to see, Mike stared off.

Mike: Leave now.
I already knew who it was though.
Kahn: She was hurt. I had to check.
Mike: No you didn’t.
