After about 30 minutes of everyone sitting there in silence, with Amanda staring at the white wall with a sad, thoughtful expression on her face, Kat came back. He lipgloss was smudged all over her chin, her hair was messed up, and her shirt was extremely crinkled. She smoothed her hair and shirt and sat down. Amanda gave her a dirty look, but Kat gave her a dirtier one.
“What’s wrong with you two?” Carly naively asked.
“Nothing’s wrong,” they instantaneously said, never taking the glares off their faces or their eyes off each other.
We sat there in about 5 minutes of awkwardly watching the earlier-loving cousins stare each other down, until there was an interruption. And this interruption looked like an angel.
But it wasn’t Charlie. It was a girl.
