Crazy Understatement

Jessica stepped slowly out of the bathroom and started down the hall. Maybe if she pretended no one was there, no one really was.

She kept that idea up until she ran into Stephen. They both fell onto the floor, his books spread everywhere. “Um sorry.â€? Jessica whispered, getting his books together. She scrambled to just get out of there.

“Jess, its okay.â€? Stephen stopped her hand and lifted her chin to look at him. “Anyway, I was … just coming to look for you.â€?

They both stood up. “Well, if you’re here to rub something in my face get it over with. Yes, you told me so, yeah, yeah, yeah.â€?

“Listen for a second. That’s not why I’m really here.â€? He smiled sincerely.

“Why are you here are talking to me after what happened?â€? Jessica sighed, realizing that talking about the past would get the, no where. They needed to focus on the future and the future was looking like it was made for Stephen and Jessica. Together.

“Yeah well, this is a bit crazy.â€? But crazy was just an understatement.
