Stillness
I couldn’t sleep, I rolled over, but there was a crawling under my skin that I couldn’t stand. I waited until the morning to call her again. She didn’t answer. Something was wrong. I didn’t think it would be an emergency, maybe. I got out the door, the crawling turned into a shiver. I found myself sprinting towards Ashley’s house. I practically ran up the wall and tumbled through her window. she wasn’t in her room. Her parents were at work, so I went down stairs. I found her face down on a table, still. I saw two bottles, one was filled of sleeping pills, the other I couldn’t tell. My heart drummed in my throat, one word came to me. Suicide. I shook her shoulder.
“Ashley?” I whispered.
Stillness
“Ashley?” I repeated, my voice shaking.
I was shaking her shoulder hard. I kept calling to her hoping that something would happen, anything.
I was face down on the table too. My arm wrapped around her. All of the sudden, I felt my arm move.
“T-Tom?”
