I’m interested in how he’d effect revolution without violence. Even any citizens’ revolt involves at least a little bit of violence. It’s an unfortunate fact of the world that change requires somebody’s death, either literally or figuratively.
You write well. My only problem is the “fear glowing in their irises” line. Irises itself is a clunky word, and is that where fear glows, anyway? I’ve always thought fear to be shown by the size of the whites. I understand the attempt to avoid a cliche though
It’s like the theory if you throw a frog into boiling water, it will jump out( resist being boiled( if you slowly raise the temperature, the frog will not notice and be boiled. So I do believe that through slow changes i.e patriot act and other laws put into play for our protection/safety, that a New gov could take over, hey the people of Germany put Hitler into power under similar cicumstances. Stovo ,you seem to understand history to write a piece like this.
another approach is to stick a pin in the frog’s head and twist. to each his own, as far as killing frogs goes. I understand what you’re getting at, but this seems like a different situation than Nazi Germany. He isn’t describing a gradual change. ””“like some shadowed undercurrent, the swift overtaking of the Governments would be put into action””” That’s an uprising, man. Or maybe I’m wrong…either way, like I said, I would like to see what happens from here.
oh dear can we please stop discussing the best ways to kill a frog?!
it is distressing me quite a bit me and my feminine qualities that dont allow me to relish the thoughts of a frog being killed
sigh stovo once again I am in awe at your ability to understand the complex workings of history even though you have yet to figure out what highschool is like
i assure you…highschool is much more daunting that writing a politically accurate ficlet consider yourself warned
