The Interstate

As I travel down the interstate,
The skies are turnin’ gray;
The signs’ lights above are flickered on
To light my dreary way.

And then the clouds open up,
And out comes the rain.
My treaded tires are weary
Worn from the pain.

I open up the sunroof
And let the drops rush in
As I bathe myself in torrents
Of redemption from sin.

The interior is flooded
The wheel evades my grasp.
The car cannonballs
And falls….
....And falls….
......and wipes away the past…

My wait is over
My time is due.
I look around
I look for You.
