The Book of Mona 16
She felt really stupid. Should have just stayed home. “You wanna dance”, Michael asked her. She shook her head. “You sure”, he asked again. She wondered if he knew he were frowning. She felt bad for saying no, but she just didn’t feel comfortable. She felt like she was holding him back. “You can go dance if you want”, she said into his ear. He smiled and said, “I’ll be right back”. She didn’t think she could feel any lower until she looked up and saw that Michael was dancing with her sister. Grinding up against her backside, while Lenny danced in front of her. Payton looked so happy, sandwhiched between too men. Mona went and sat down on an empty sofa. She layed her head on her arm, cold wet tears sliding down her face, trickling down her arm. She felt a tap on her shoulder and looked up. It was her sister. She gestered toward two swinging doors, so she got up and followed her. The doors lead to a big kitchen with a dinning area. Payton pulled her toward a long black table and pulled out two chairs.
