When I saw the flickr picture of the guy in the bowler, Julian Sands as Dr. Thomas Davis in a late-1800’s London setting immediately came to mind.

I’d put Sir John Gielgud (assuming he were alive) as Dr. Fredrick Johnson.

As for Detective Albert Miller, I’ll forgo the stereotypical Basil Rathbone in favor of Hugh Jackman.
