A Sucky Friday

Shivers of ice cold splintered through her bones and made her frame quiver. She put her hand over her mouth, trying to keep warm. She felt like she should be crying, but tears wouldn’t come. A roar of the crowd came back from the stands. A group of boys was standing a yard away from her.
Where was he? It’s freezing!
She looked, careful not to make eye contact with any of the boys, down both sides of the street crowded with parked cars for Homecoming. No dented and scratched up yellow bug.
One was looking at her.She did a double take and registered a familiar face.
“Cyn!” he smiled and walked closer. The rest of their attention now on her.
“Alex,” she said with the smallest of smiles.
“What are you doing out here?”
“Waiting for a ride,” she explianed dully,”My friend’s being a bitch..” yellow car!
She openned the door.
“Howdy.”
She chuckled, “Ello poppet.”Then she realized she was shouting over a wailing guitar. She got in, “What are you listen-” The car door slammed shut and Alex watched it go.
