Jonathan stared at Valtameri, waiting for the answer that didn’t come.
“We’re here.” She finally spoke. Jonathan could not tell where “here” was. A large coral branch reached above the water into a grotto. It looked just as ominous as the rest of their surroundings. “It is my father’s house.” Valtameri explained.
“And scrolls of prophesies are kept here?” Jonathan wrinkled his nose, “Are we going back for Winnie? I’m frightened for her.”
She laughed not unkindly.
“But, if we cannot prove that you are Caspian they will…” her voice faded as he realized the pertinence.
Without waiting, Jonathan rushed to the entrance, where he was met by an enormous beast.
