She Be A Witch

Sarah Goode was a good Christian woman of high moral fiber.
She had six daughters and seven sons. She was beloved by her husband John Goode and by all in her community.

Sarah Goode suffered from seizures, that until that early October morn, no one outside of her humble home was aware.

That crisp autumn day she had the misfortune to have a seizure in the town square, witnessed by the townsfolk, and none other than the self proclaimed ‘Witch Finder General’, Jonah Prim.

While Sarah was in the throws of a violent fit, Jonah Prim raced over, pushing through the crowd gathered and yelled, “She be a Witch!!!”

The crowd, up until that very moment her much loved friends and neighbors, began to chant as one, “She be a witch.”

Sarah, still dazed and foggy of mind sat on the dusty path in astonishment.

“She cavorts with demons,” the Witch Finder General proclaimed. “See she hath the mark of the beast upon her,” pointing to the mole upon her cheek as proof of witchery.

Sarah cried.
