Just to be clear, since I change the POV , it is Simon who teleports (or whatevers) them out of there. Blake doesn’t have the mojo (at least not that I know of).

As for where they went and what “Phlegethonâ€? (a river in Hell) has to do with this… well, that’s up to those who sequel me.

On a second read, I realize how poorly this ficlet flows. Alas. I was certainly trying to cram too much in too little a space.

I think it flows quite nicely. This is turning out to be one of the best series I’ve read it a long time.

Is it really that easy to put down a lich? She is dead, for one thing. I would think it would take a dozen taser shots and multiple blows to the head, minimum. (I would write that into a sequel, but I’m too lazy.)

The ficlet ends with Crowe placing his rifle butt into her forehead, but it doesn’t say it puts her down. Then again, Simon did softener her up.

I have a sense that Officer Crowe is in for a bad day.
