The Bluest Blue (XVI)
“Wait, I always thought we had only one other soul-mate.” Brian looked at the photograph again, noticed how his arm was casually draped around Madeline’s shoulders.
“If by that you mean romantically, you’re right. Of the two souls, one tends to be, though not always, romantically linked. Although sometimes our current lover may have been our father, our mother, our brother, even our friend, in a past life.”
“The author of that book said that our gender can change through reincarnation.”
“As far as I know, that is incorrect. From the 25 lifetimes that I can recall, I have always been a male, Madeline has always been a female, and you have always been a male. What can change is the age difference.”
“You mean to tell me you remember 25 of your lifetimes? And Madeline and I have been in every single one?”
“Yes. In the previous lifetime, the one from the picture, we were brothers.”
“And Madeline?” Brian asked, though deep down he already knew what the old man was going to say.
“Maddie? She was your wife.”
