Leaving
I sat there sulking. I watched the red, green, and yellow trees rush by. He was in such a hurry, as if he wanted us to get there. Well, duh. of course he does. I thought angrily.
But this was all her fault. She had to start that stupid fight and then marry this guy.
“You’ll thank me when your older.” She had said to me as she put me into the car.
Now we were speeding away. Speeding away from everthing I knew. Speeding away from everything I loved. And speeding away from my father. They had no right to take me away from him. Didn’t I even have a choice? I knew the answer. I was too young to know any better They had told me. I was 13 for gosh sake! How much older did I have to be before I could decide who I wanted to live with?!
“We’re here!” My mother and step-father sang in unison. Lovely.. I thought bitterly.
