Well, Lilith’s actual endgame hasn’t been revealed yet. She told Metatron off screen, and that’s why he’s still paying attention.

I’ve always seen Metatron as the corporate paper pusher type. Michael and Gabriel aare the men of action, but ‘Tron sits behind a desk all day, laying out Ineffable Plans. If it’s not rendered in chart or graph form, he won’t pay attention.
