The Scarlet Woman Ascendant

Rough hands tore Blake away from his lip-lock with Agnes— Special Agent —Winters, breaking his psychic connection. The Eye tattooed on his scalp was now closed, but even so, he was having difficulty separating reality from the false memories that he implanted into Winters’ brain.

“Blake! What happened?” Simon asked, frantic and confused, as soldiers tried to hold him down and shove the gag back into his mouth.

“I gave her ten years of memories and nearly every bit of magical knowledge I have,” Blake answered, trying to fight off the men who grabbed him. “I hope she knows what to do with them…” One of the agents Tasered Blake, and his next words were screams of pain.

Winters heard the scream, and snapped awake. She rose from the ground, floating inches above it as her handcuffs shattered and fell to the floor. Her dark hair drifted out around her like a halo and behind the dark glasses her eyes glowed red.

“Let him go,” she growled, her voice like a crackling wildfire.

Behind her, Lilith/Angela smiled.
