You have amazing control of language for a 12 (or 13?) year old. I’m half skeptical that you’re not truly older, but I choose to believe you. And I think that you’re absolutely right, they don’t call them “the formative years” for nothing.

being closer to thrice than twice your age, I must inform you that if you stop growing as a person at twelve, you have a pretty sad life. New things happen every day. I’m still developing, learning, remolding. Don’t worry. There’s lots to look forward to…and AC is right, you are very talented (don’t let it go to your head, ego is less a muse than a curse ;) so keep it up.

btw, money is really handy but way overrated. I’d take quality over quantity any day.

Thoughtful post at your age or any other… I ask you to consider author George Dawson who learned to read at age 98 and authored his own life story at age 101. Dawson started his first job at age 4! I wonder what he thought of his childhood or the concept of a “picture perfect” world? I’d guess that abstract talents like art and writing became more important to him as he aged.

This post makes me think. I think that abstract talents r very important.

It really does make you think…though I tend to disagree a bit. Money can buy you traditional schooling…but learning and knowledge can’t be bought. Some things you can’t learn in school…I don’t go to school, and I learn so, so much. But that’s just my opinion…

BTW , for some of you that mentioned the stuff about money and whatnot, I wrote it saying that the world viewed it that way—not me. I may have just misinterpreted what you said, but the same goes for the 12 theory. I didn’t make that myself, and I’m not saying that your life dies once you turn 13. It’s simply the theory of how the rest of your personality is going to be.

Wow, I expected you to be at least my age…Though I admit I haven’t changed much, myself, since 13, because I was rather mature for my age. Though I have developed some severe taste aversions and phobias since then. Like writing on paper for one…But that’s another story.

i thought you were a lot older than twelve, seeing as i’m not much older i can easily say i wish i had lots of money so i could go to the high school of my choice, but your right about cycles. they get truly annoying after a while

New and interesting style from you Stovohobo. I know from experience that when people answer rhetorical questions meant to provoke thought, it is, to the writer, extremely annoying. I’m going to do it anyway. Of course astract talents count!

As for the formative years…PSH! I’ve grown as a person 11 times more rapidly since 6th grade than I ever had before. I think you really become more self aware AFTER childhood.

Anyways…I liked it! Keep at it, you’ve got amazing talent. I’m jealous.

They say you change every seven years ( age like a dog?) I turned thirteen a month ago and i don’t really feel that older…its like when i turned 10 and i thought i would feel older (cause of th double digits) but i didn’t.
i was really disapointed too…lol

i like you thoughts. i think that you change and develop a lot after you turn thirteen, but at the sale time i think that by the time you are a teenager it’s good to have at least figured out who you’d like to be. it is probably not who you are now and it may not be who you end up as, but to at least be forming serious goals and having in mind a realistic ideal of what you want the future to look like

I think the connection between childhood, competence, money, and talent is a bit fuddled. The timeframe of your childhood and development are more dependent on the environment you are born into. Also, equating monetary possession and social competence is a bit too pessimistic. And as for talents having meaning…that is purely personal and solely dependent on what you look for in life, so I don’t think you should have any worries there.
