Outbreak v1.11
You retreat back inside the house. You’re not at all hungry. Your nerves are doing backflips at the thought of you attempting to go outside. You only saw two diseased, but more had to be out there right? There is only one way to find out, of course. You were glad to be going home, you’d be reunited with your mother and you could get fresh clothing.
“Morning,” Andrew said sleepily. “It’s funny how it’s practically dead outside and a car alarm goes off. What are the odds, eh?” You laugh to yourself and agree. Luis is awake now too and stares at you intently.
“What?” you ask.
“Are you sure you want to go today?”
“Pretty sure.”
“Well, you know, if something’s there and..” he began.
“Stop. She’s fine,” you interupted angrily. How dare he suggest that your mother might be dead, or worse. You crack your knuckles impatiently. “So when are we heading out?” He gives you a sad stare. You just raise your eyebrows expecting a response.
“Ten minutes. You handy with one of these?”
In your hand he places a gun.
