Glad You Understand

Shivering to no end, I awoke. I had only my thin blanket on top of me, and half of it wasn’t covering my feet. I stood up, turned my alarm clock off, and got dressed for school. I put on my jacket and looked out the window, as to see if my bus was here yet, but all I saw was snow.

A thick layer of cold, white, getting-students-out-of-school joy of precipitation.

“Woohoo!” I yell, bouncing into the air. I hurrily put on my snow stuff and head downstairs.

Then it hit me. Last night. The kiss. My grounding.

I opened the door as quietly as I was possibly able, but to no avail.

“Your grounded young lady, get back in here.” my mom yelled from the kitchen, drinking some hot choco.

“But mooom, it’s snowing. This is like.. like..”

“Like totally sucky, right?”

“Yes! Exactly! Glad you understand!”

And without another word allowed, I bounded out the door and grabbed my snowboard.
