“So how long are you in for?â€? he asked.

“Just a couple nights and then some intensive recuperating at home.â€?

“You mean at my house,â€? he interjected.

She just smiled, “I made them promise to let you stay whenever. But if you want to, you can go home and rest,â€? she quickly added.

“Are you kidding me? I’m here for the long haul, Kiddo,â€? he confirmed as he plopped in a chair.

“In that case, come make yourself comfortable. That’s gonna kill you if you sit there all night,â€? she said as she scooted over and patted the space in the bed next to her.

“I think the beds are for patients only,â€? he countered.

“Well, if they demand on me staying, they are just going to have to deal,â€? she retorted.

Ultimately, they ended up sharing the bed, Xailey falling asleep in Aiden’s arms with him stroking her hair and planting soft kisses on the top of her head.
