The Cave that Never Ends
Alexia finally stood up and began pasing back and forth. She couldn’t believe it! They had walked for what seemed to be hours just to come to find that the light that they thought was a way out was just an opening in the cave with a hole in the top!
“Wait a minute…” Alexia said as if thinking out loud. “There’s a hole in the top of this cave. And the cave wall has rocky spots jutting out of it. We can climb out!”
“Are you insaine?!” Abbie said in astonishment as she jumped up. “I have absolutely no experience climbing a rock wall and niether do you!”
“Of course we do. Don’t you remember that fake rock wall climb at that fall festival we went to this year?” Alexia replied.
“That doesn’t count. It was a fake rock wall.” Abbie retorted.
“But it still counts because it was based on a real rock wall. Look, do you want to get out of here or not?” Alexia said confidently, knowing what Abbie would say.
“Yes, but…” Abbie started, but before she could finish Alexia cut her off.
“Then climb.”
