I was outside. I wanted to stay inside, but.. I couldn’t handle sitting next to him and watching him sleep. So I started down the street, to see if I could find something to eat. My stomach had been grumbling and when I walked past a vending machine I realized I hadn’t eaten all day.

I walked into a Wal-Mart. Perhaps I’ll buy some ice cream? I mean, he would want something to eat when he woke up, wouldn’t he? Oh, I’m so confused.

I walked out of the store, sherbert ice cream, Chad’s favorite, in hand.

But where to go now? I could go hang out on the furniture in Raymour and Flannigan, but I don’t think I’m allowed to take any food in there.

I guess I’ll just hang out in the main lobby of the hospital until 5:00, when he wakes up. I’ll just have Anna come over and meet me until 4:30, I can’t bottle in my excitement without somebody else to help me release it in a legal way.

“Anna?” I called her cell.

“O-M-G is he okay?!”

I breathed a sigh of relief. “Yeah, he is.”
