Croner
“Umm…” I debated whether or not to tell Allie. “Just thinking about my math test.”
“Joanna-you had that dreamy look in your eyes. Kind of like when you went out with Jake.” Thanks. For saying Jake.
“Oh no just math.” I said.
“Oh…I get you think Mr. Croner is hot!” Mr. Croner was like a gazillion years old.
“Ha. Funny joke. No, seriously I’m nervous.” I tried to act like thats what I was nervous about. As I said that, Max walked right by me.
“Hey Joanna, the math test is easy.” As he said those words, my stomach did a triple backflip then threatened to jump right out on the floor and do an irish jig. I gave a half-heartend smileback at him.
“Ah ha. I have solved the Case of The Quesy Joanna!” Allie proclaimed a little too loudly.
“Yes?” I said my stomach again did many flips and dances, but this time, it was a bad feeling.
“You like Max!” She said with pride weaving through her words.
“No, I don’t.” I said silently cursing myself for defying my heart. I couldn’t let Allie know. Surely not Allie.
