Angels from the Realms of Hades
Luckily, he was there when I arrived at the party. He waited by the door which eliminated the awkward conversations I would’ve had to have looking for him. An outcast like me just doesn’t go looking for the most popular guy in school.
“It’s time,” I whispered to him, pretending to hang up my jacket.
“Now?” he noticed my charade and followed suit pretending to check his coat pockets for something. There was nothing we could stop at to hide our talking.
“Well, I’m sorry this is at such an inconvenient time for you,” my wings were starting to itch under the new shirt, “but I can’t help what time a meeting, that could save or condemn everyone you know, happens to be.”
“Fine. I’ll be there in a sec,” a grin sprang to his face as one of his buddies made a joke he was supposed to have been listening to. I grabbed my coat and walked out, ignoring the looks I was getting.
I stopped in the doorway. This was going to be a bit more complicated than I thought.
