Fate
I screamed and leaned into Blake. What was that thing?
It was a Fate. Blake told me in my head. His voice was soothing, as if to calm me. My nerves were shot now. I could never have imagined a Fate to look like that! That thing was hideous. It seemed like something I’d see in my worst of nightmares. The image was burned into my mind.
Sweety, calm down. Your shaking. He’s gone, didn’t even see us. This time his voice managed to calm me a little. I rose a bit and looked around. Blake was right, the Fate was nowhere around us.
How did it miss us? You’d think it’d be on the look out for, oh I don’t know, a dragon?!
He wasn’t looking for us. He probably doesn’t even know we’ve left your house yet. That’s where he’s heading.
My parents! Will they be alright?? I couldn’t believe it hadn’t occured to me that my house was the first place they’d look. What would they do to my parents!?
They should be fine. Don’t worry.
Should be? Should be?! And if they’re not?
