An Airborne Water ballon Fight

My wings stretched to my fullest and a grin stretched across my face. We were free. No worries.

Psh. Yeah right.

A ball of red fire flew past my head and hit the tip of my wing. It didn’t hurt but I froze up and started to rapidly descend. Above my head fire flew back and forth from my side and theirs. When did he learn to throw fire? And why wasn’t it blue like all the resistance? It was purple?

More amazingly he held his own. He kept throwing and dodging looking like he was in a water balloon fight. When did he get so experienced?

He managed to scare them off and he looked at me with horror. I finally remembered the falling and I saved myself. I willed myself not to look at how far I had to go and we resumed our flight pattern without a word.

“Look out,” he called from the side. I swerved just in time to avoid a ball of blue flames. Wait. Blue?

I thought before it all fit. “You idiot! Don’t swerve! It’s K’y’erma! We’re here.”
