Later that evening, Chris joined Thora on the couch. They watched the news and then a movie.

Thora rested comfortably against Chris’s shoulder. Minx curled up beside Thora. Felix sat on the other side of Chris.

During the movie, Chris’s cell went off.. he answered it and left the room. He came back half an hour later. Sat back down and continued watching the movie.

“Who was that?” Thora asked curiously.
“That was Brad, a friend from the paper, he wanted to know what happened and if I was ok.” Chris answered.

Chris shifted in his seat nervously. He hoped that she didn’t suspect anything.

Chris gets up. “Im gonna get a beer, want one?” He asked.

“Sure” she replied.

He returned a few minutes later with a few beers and a bowl of chips. He rested them on the coffee table and sat back down. The two of them drink a beer and enjoy a snack.

Thora rests her head on Chris’s thigh. Minx curls up next to her and begs for a hand out. She plays with her before she gives in and gives her a chip.
