Pre Trial
It’s the day of the trial. April and her mother are in court . They sit in a room with their lawyer. The three of them are seated at a table. The trial will begin in twenty minutes. The three of them prepare to present their case to the judge.
The lawyer asks April some questions about the night when her father, went on his rampage.
“April, can you tell me what happened that night, to have your father so angry and violent?” He probed, with a calm and steady voice.
“He seemed annoyed about something, I remember him being upset because I was watching TV. He insisted that I do my homework. But I had to repeatedly tell him I had already finished it before he got home.” She answered flatly.
“April honey, was daddy drunk when he urged you to do your homework?” Her mother asked.
“I think so, I could smell something on his breath, and it didn’t smell too good” April said as she looked at her mother and the lawyer.
“Now, Toni, I need to get your side of the story.” Said the lawyer.
