“How did you learn that he was holding April in the basement, against her will?” Asked the Lawyer, as he directly looked at Toni.

“That came later in the argument, I asked him where she was, because I wanted to talk to her. I wanted to make sure she was ok” Toni Answered with a quivering lower lip.

“What was his response?” Asked the lawyer.

“He told me that she was asleep in her room. But I didn’t believe him, I went up and checked her room and she was not there. So I checked the basement, just on a guess. I figured shed go down there to get away from him, in his current state” Toni Explained.

“So in your husband’s condition he lied to you, about the whereabouts of your daughter?” Asked the lawyer.

“Yes that is correct.” Toni added, with a look of disappointment strewn across her already traumatized face.

“When you went looking for your daughter, where was your husband at this time.” asked the lawyer.

“Passed out on the couch” answered Toni.

A loud gasp filled the room.
