Baxter
Baxter, short for William Baxter as he was formally but distastefully called, sat out on the balcony dragging the last few puffs of smoke from his hand rolled cigarette. He had escaped from the party, tired of the dull and drunken socializing, to clear his head and bathe himself in the cool night air.
He hummed a few lines of a song that was vigorously channeling through his mind. It had kept him up for at least three nights over the past week, and he was starting to get concerned.
The humming came over him, and progressed to the movement of his lips until the words finally came out and he confessed his sins to the face of the bright moon.
“Well Im not the worlds most passionate guy
But when I looked in her eyes well I almost fell for my Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola…”
There was a light tapping sound of heels behind him, and he stopped, caught in his secret indulgence.
“Did somebody call me?” A sultry, sweet voice said to the back of his head.
