Who Knew I Could Hit My Head That Hard?
I don’t feel good. I need to get up. Need to get in the bathroom. I feel like puking…
Slowly getting out of my bed, I glanced at my clock. It was exactly 3:00 a.m. I got to the bathroom jsut in time. I threw up right in the toilet.
Standing up I felt better, at least for the moment. After a few short seconds thought, I was feeling light headed. Within minutes I couldn’t keep my balance.
I fell hard, hitting my hand on something hard and sharp. I could feel the gap in my hand but no pain registered in my brain. That was probably because I had hit it so hard. At 3:16, my birthdate, everything went black.
I awoke in the hospital three days later in an empty room. My head was now throbbing and my right hand bandaged. There were get-well cards on the table to the right, and the trash can was filled with old tissues. I didn’t think I hit my head that hard!
Later that day a doctor came in to check on me. He unbandaged my hand. A half-moon scar was in the dead center of my palm. It burned.
