Lily shuddered at the voice; she thought she was alone. Choosing to stay silent she didn’t respond, hoping she could concentrate on the cross, hoping something would happen to enlighten her. But the sound of the other woman made her lose her focus.
Finally succumbing to the question that she had been asked, “I thought I was alone, as usual.” She looked straight ahead the last part muttered under her breath, but still heard by the woman. ‘I still am alone…‘
“Your never alone.” The woman said, wanting so much to help Lily. “Do you want to talk?”
‘Should I open up to her? The pastor says she’s been through hell and back and kept her faith. How did she do that? I’m so lost and confused, how do you stay with God when he let you down so much?’ She thought, still looking at the cross behind the pulpit. The model of Jesus looking so sad, so disheartened.
“Tell me, how did you keep your faith even though all the pain? I just want to die to run away, how did you do it?” Lily looked at the woman, in her eyes.
