I laugh, “Come, brother, and see my territory. I staked out a good one did I not? How is my sister? And yourself, how are you fairing?â?
“Stillborn,â? he murmurs, “They’re all stillbornâ?
I pause for a moment, and then continue cheerfully, “Well there’s still the second litter.â?
He shakes his head. I am shocked into a painful silence. And here I was, worrying about have two litters, and he had none. I flick my almst nonexistent tail. Suddenly, I have an idea.
