She held the reciever close to her ear and smiled.

“Hey,”
“Hey,how are you?” he asked
“I’m holding up well-doing the best I can you know,”she answered
“Good. Keep trying. I know you’ll pull through,” he said
She laughed
“Alright, I will.” she answered, “I miss you,”
“I miss you too,” he replied
She nearly started crying. It felt so good to hear those words. Sometimes it seemed these calls were the brightest part of her day.

“I wish I could be with you,” she said
“I know. I wanna kiss you so bad right now” he answered
She blushed
“Listen when you get back first thing I’m gonna do is give you a big hug, and then we’ll go out for dinner,” he said
“Luigi’s?” She asked
“Sure,” he answered
“Listen, I’m so sorry. And I’m going to try my best to get better soon, so I can come back to you okay?”
“It’s time for your medication, Mrs. Andrews” the nurse said, brandishing anti-depressants.

“Let me finish this call,” she replied, wearily.
“Bye honey I love you”
“I love you too,” he answered
