Enduring
“Honey could you please come into the room?” she said
“Yes, what’s wrong?” he replied
He strode in with a concerned look. It had already been six months since the clinic had discharged her, but it seemed he was still worried for her sake.
“Nothing,” she replied
She wrapped her arms around him, and kissed him.
Then she turned and picked up a bottle.
“This is the last of the antidepressants,” she replied
“Do you want me to run out and get more?” he asked
“No, I wanna stop. I feel strong enough now,”
“But Dr.-”
“The doctor says it’s okay too. Before, I felt I wasn’t strong enough to get well on my own. Now I feel I can, because you believed in me. I want to rely on my own strength- for myself and for you. I want to be stronger so I can stand by you,”
“I believed in you because you’ve always been strong to me.” he replied and then he leaned down and kissed her.
“I love you,” she breathed
“I’m so grateful I get to love you,” he answered
They held eachother as if they would never let go.
