John turned back to Jude, “Thanks, but…”
Jude looked puzzled, he knew something was up if John said no to money and fame.
“We’re happy where we are for now. Perhaps we could consider it within the next year or so?”
Jude’s puzzled face grew more distorted. He knew John was hiding something.
“And what, my friend, would keep you from accepting such a grand offer? The ASO accepts only the finest, and we pay accordingly.”
John shook his head as a disapointed father would at his son. “Im sorry, it’s impossible for us to decide right now… please forgive me, but we must stay in New York until further notice.”
I was surprised at John’s determination. This might be harder than I thought…
I always knew John was full of himself, and loved to show off. So this was a big deal to shove off an offer like this. It was silent for another 5 minutes. Then Jude spoke, “It’s a woman, isn’t it? Well you two better just give up. Chasing love is for fools!”
With that he got up and stormed out of the restaurant.
