Wow. One of the most emotive pieces you’ve written. Haunting and unique; great storytelling, especially with a character limit.

Wow. I really want to know why he was so jealous of the doll. The eyes that mock him, his own imagination making him almost believe the doll was real… That is some wonderful storytelling in a limited space.

in the usa do people rally call their nans grandmom?? i know you spell and pronounce mom differently but i just never heard anyone say grandmom…..or even grandmum!! intersting piece of writing. you really used the tequnigue of giveing half the informatin to one of its potentials!

Wow. Like everyone said, haunting. There’s something about this one that makes me want to cry, perhaps it’s the attachment I had to dolls when I was a little younger. Amazing writing.

I think ‘Poeish’ captures the tragic nature of it. Me, I’m a sucker for the psychological bent, that she talks to the doll and presumably not to him. Great ‘human’ touch there to the tragedy, really added depth with that one little tidbit.
