We Won the Battle, But Can We Win the War?
We docked with the battleship Patton, which was the command ship of Admiral Starking’s massive fleet encircling Earth.
“Admiral, the arvians have complete control over Mars. We need to go to Mars and inihilate them while they’re still rebuiling.”
The Admiral gave me a harsh look and stroked his grey mustache.
“Young Captain, it would be highly dangerous to leave Earth’s gravitational field to go on a worthless goose chase. Here we are safe and can call for reinforcements easily. Should we lose at Mars, Earth won’t stand a chance.”
I ran my fingers through my thick black hair in frustration.
“If we let the arvians rebuild, our fleet will be useless against their numbers. We need to use time to our advantage.”
The Admiral stood up suddenly.
“Captain, unless you wish to be sent back to boot camp, I sincerely suggest you leave your ludichrist suggestion behind along with your rebelious attitude. You will follow my lead, Duke.”
I thundered out, Ashley following me.
“Duke?”
