Keep the Secret

“Holy-” Mark stumbled backwards. “It really is you!”
“You figured I’d be lying?” Luna said, folding her hands.
“No! I just didn’t believe you,” Mark said.
“Well you’d better. And not tell anyone, either.”
“If I did I’d be stuck into an asylum!” Mark exclaimed.
Luna frowned. “You have a point there,” she chuckled.
“Keep my secret for now?” she fingered her silver wolf pendant.
“Uh, ok,” Mark stuttered.
“I’ll explain over the weekend. Today’s a Friday,” Luna smiled, showing her fangs. “You’d better not say anything.”
“Trust me: I won’t,” Mark said.
“Well, then…see you in school!” Luna said casually. She ran up the hill at an inhuman speed. She gave a playful salute and jogged off.

“I must be nuts,” Mark sat down at the picnic table. He found himself asking a familiar question.

Why am I drawn to her?
