Ooh, at first I was think death, then nope it’s divorce, then BAM ! Dead. Very effective twist-twist-twist effect in this one. And certainly explains the exquisite difficulty in moving on for our poor fellow here.

The ironic thing is, when I commented on the last couple of Ficlets in the series, I presumed Elizabeth was dead, not divorced. And then it turns out that she died anyhow. It strikes me as funny, in a dry sort of way.
