Okay, I went back and checked. I don’t know what zkid is thinking, but the original bit clearly has ‘you’ as the protagonist with two friends Zoe and Joe, the protagonist ‘you’ never being named. Lone Writer on the other hand, has a valid point, although the books were always at least illustrated gender specific, so there’s a little bit of suspension of your own reality involved. Then again, I spent four years outside San Francisco, so, you know, roll with it.
Oh, I get it. Writing in second person has some unexpected perils. So I shouldn’t have gone for romance, huh? Ah well, it’s still flattering even if you’re not into it, right.
