An unexpected phone call
Monday was worthless. I didn’t see her at all. I’d even skipped my lunch so i could look around for her. And the worst part? Kayla caught my eyes as we walked past each other in the hall… she smiled at me, as she did the first time i saw her…
ugh…
If we had any homework that day, i didn’t bother doing it. I only went home and called up Paul.
“Wassup man?”
“Ugh… Paul, Kayla’s tearing me apart. There’s someone i could talk to, but I don’t even have her number!”
I hated myself for not asking Lucy for her number at the football game. Damn it…
“You’ll get over her eventually dude. Who’s this other girl?”
Oh shit… I’d lied to him at the movies…
“Er, i kinda met her at the football game, and she really connected with me… but i don’t even know if ill talk to her again.”
“So, Lucy’s more than just a friend’s girlfriend, isn’t she?”
My face went red. I didn’t talk until the phone flashed in my hands.
“Hold on Paul”
I switched the line.
“Hello?”
“Hey Tom…”
